Orion Pictures rebooted the classic franchise, spinning a cautionary tale of AI and interconnectivity gone wrong while staying true to the gory, fun 80s horror.
Kalos was brought on board, working with other vendors both locally and in New York, to polish up Chucky and bring his eyes to LED-life in one of the film’s pivotal sequences. Our artists cleaned up the practical doll, restoring the soft plastic look of the face, with additional CG for the eye replacement and animation. We also had a hand in the Buddi Bear eyes and some other invisible VFX shots throughout the sequence.
There was a lot of face tracking, re-projections, animation and compositing involved, but we were glad contribute to such a cult classic!
